Press the PS key on the wireless controller to go to Control Center, then select Download/Upload.

Restart the system software download on the PS5 console:

Enter folder names and file names using capital letters. If your Sony PS5 console does not recognize the file, please check that the folder name and file name are correct.

Select Safe Mode option 3: Upgrade System Software.

Start the PS5 console in safe mode: Press and hold the power button, and release it after hearing the second beep.

Insert the USB drive containing the files into the PS5 console.

Download the update file and save it in the “UPDATE” folder. Save the file as “PS5UPDATE.PUP”.

Using a PC or Mac, create a folder called “PS5” on the USB drive formatted as FAT32. Inside that folder, create another folder named “UPDATE”.
